EVENT DESCRIPTION:  Tom Gober on Risk Characteristics of Life Insurance and Annuity Carriers

Tom Gober is a veteran insurance examiner who has spent 40 years as an independent fraud examiner. Events in the insurance industry have created concern for Mr. Gober and many in the business, and he will offer a high-level, insightful perspective on threats to insurance company liquidity from higher risk balance investments.

With an extensive background which includes work with the United States Attorneys’ Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, many other state and federal agencies, and serving as the Mississippi Department of Insurance Examiner-In-Charge, Mr. Gober is well placed to provide tremendous insight on this topic. Expanding on the information in the linked March 5th, 2025, article from the Financial Times, Mr. Gober will explain his concerns about reinsurance, affiliated investments, and excess removal of liquidity.
